ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF KOGI STATE SECURITY TRUST FUND DURING GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO LED ADMINISTRATION
Kogi State Security Trust Fund was established by the KSSTF Act of 2012, to respond to the operational deficiency of various security agencies within the state.
With sole objective to provide money for the acquisition and deployment of security equipment, human, materials and financial resources necessary for the effective Functioning of all Federal, State, Local Government and other security agencies operating in the State and part of fund shall be reserved for the training of security personnel.
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TRUST FUND SINCE THE INCEPTION OF GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO LED ADMINISTRATION.
At inception of Governor Bello’s led administration the State Government Procured and donate over one hundred (100) Hilux Vehicles and Several security Motorcycles to Security Agencies, to compliment the State Government effort, the Trust Fund had since inception of the administration led by His Excellency, Ahaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, been able to fill in the gap in equipment, logistics, training and welfare deficiency of security agencies operating in the state.
EQUIPMENT
The Trust Fund, has commenced the process of establishing the Central Logistics Base, as enshrined in the Enabling Law.
The Law mandated the Trust Fund to establish a Central Logistics Base, where equipment and other essential needs of the security agents are kept for the use of the security agencies. To accomplish this mandate, the State Security Trust Fund is vigorously pursuing the actualization by procurement of
vehicles and other necessities for the Base.
ASSISTANCE TO SECURITY AGENTS
The Kogi State Security Trust Fund, has assisted in the refurbishment of patrol vehicles of the Security Agencies Operating in the state, The Fund has refurbished over five hundred and twenty four (524) patrol vehicles of Security Agencies and four (4) Armored personnel Carriers (APC) of the Nigeria Police with the inception of this administration.
The Trust Fund has also procured two thousand seven hundred and twenty eight (2,728) vehicles tyres and five hundred and forty nine (549) batteries for Security agents operating in the State.
In addition, the Trust Fund has constructed Bases for the Local Hunters across the state and purchases over two hundred (200) security motorcycles for the Local Hunter.
WELFARE
The Governor, Yahaya Bello led administration did not only prioritize security of the state, by providing security apparatus for the security agencies, the `administration is equally mindful of the welfare of the security personnel’s.
The State Government through the State Security Trust Fund, identified with Security Agencies who were victims of terrorist attack in the State. The Nigeria Police,
The Correctional Services (Kabba & Koton-karffe correctional center’s) the National Drug Law Force Agency (NDLEA) are good examples; the welfare packages were cash donations to cushion the effects of the attacks.
Furthermore to ameliorate the suffering occasioned by the effects of 2022 flood, the Trust Fund, also made cash durations to the Nigeria Police and Vigilante living in riverine areas in the state.
The Governor Yahaya Bello led administration, did not allow the contributions of the fallen heroes who have contributed to the Security of the State, go in vain, as Such, Trust Fund do donate in cash and kind to the wives of the fallen heroes come January 15th of every year and same gesture is the extended to the Correctional Centres in the state.
TRAINING
As one of the statutory responsibility of the Trust Fund, the Agency during the Bello led Administration Organized training for conventional, vigilante and local security outfits in the state and after training were posted to various Local Government Areas with a mandate to stem the tide of crime and criminality, it was a marching order and the result was highly commendable.
PROJECTIONS
Since the world has gone Digital the state Security Trust Fund, has installed Security Gadgets at the Headquarters of some security Agencies and instrumental to proposed ICT driven intelligence gathering of the state (proposed Critical Mission of Kogi State by Hytera and partners) today, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the State Government and the Company for it take-off courtesy of the Trust fund.
The Trust Fund has proposal with the state government to procure Drones, Aircraft, construct mechanic workshop and procure over 100 patrol vehicles for the Central Logistics Base if fully take-off.
CONSULTATIONS
To ensure the security of the state remain water tight, the Trust Fund, has met with all the conventional and local security outfits in the state to enhance the good working relationship that, has earned the state the position of “the most safest state in Nigeria”.
The Trust Fund will not rest on it oars until its accomplished it mandates, so contribution your quota.
