AIG ISHOLA IN CHARGE OF ZONE 8 ASSURED THE PUBLIC OF COMMITTED TO SAFETY OF LIVES AND PROPERTY

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone eight covering Kogi, Ekiti and Kwara States, Babatunde Ishola has assured of the commitment Nigeria Police to safety of lives and property.

Ishola stated this during a meeting with the Police Committee Relations Committee, PCRC and other stakeholders in Lokoja.

The meeting which had senior police officers in the zone as well well as members of the Police Committee Relations Committee, PCRC and other stakeholders in attendance was aimed at chatting the way forward for a more robust policing ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the State.

While declaring the meeting open, the AIG, said Police Authorities is also working on curbing the rate of unprofessional conduct of officers and men of the Nigeria Police towards the public.

He charged the State Commissioner of Police to ensure that those participating directly in gubernatorial election are properly briefed on the rules and regulations guiding their conduct and on the need to remain apolitical while discharging thier official duty.

On the challenges confronting the State Command of the Police, he assured of necessary interventions by authority for improved make them proactive and effective in tackling crimes and criminality.

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police Berthrand Onuoha, while speaking earlier, described the meeting as timely in view of the forthcoming Governorship election in the State.

CP Onuoha assured of continued partnership with communities, vigilantes for intelligence gathering to fight crimes and criminality across the State.

The Kogi State Woman Coordinator, Police Committee Relations Committee, PCRC, Mrs Victoria Alabi urged the police to be more civil in approach to the public and and assured of their continued support.
