ARC G Y ADUKU LAID TO REST

The Amana Ogohi 1 Atta lgala and former Minister of State, Health, late Arc (Chief) Gabriel, Yakubu Aduku who died on 10th March,2024 after a brief illness in an American hospital in the United States of America, has been laid to rest in his country home, Anyigba,
Kogi State after a funeral service, was held in his honour at the Chapel of Restoration, Prince Abubakar Audu, University, Anyigba, on 20th April, 2024.

Earlier a Service of Songs was held for him at United Evangelical Church (UEC) , Utako, Abuja where he had worshipped, on 18th April, 2024 while the Wake Keep took place at his residence, at Anyigba, the following day.

It could be recalled that the various events were well attended where his humility, selfless service to mankind and his service in the vineyard of God, were extolled by various individual personalities and corporate organisations that graced the occasions, to pay their last respect to a man who had contributed so much to the development of this country, Kogi State and lgala land.

The political icon and professional pathfinder whose legacies would remain fresh in the minds of the people, as it was depicted variously in different forms during the funeral service, the occasion also saw promises to immortalize the great icon.

ln his exaltations, Rev. Chris Effiong of the United Evangelical Church, said the demise of Arc (Chief) Gabriel Yakubu Aduku was a great lost to the nation,Kogi State and lgala land.

The clergy who took his message from the book of Luke chapter 16vs 19, said the same God that had raised Lazarus from death would raise someone like Chief Aduku for the people.

He urged those who were blessed to allow their blessings to benefit others.

“Never should it be on your own accounts that the people should cry nor suffer”, he admonished, saying Chief Aduku talked less but had much impact. Rev. Effiong who used the occasion to admonish the people to make amend, said “now is the time”. Therefore, he said the decision taken to follow Jesus by Chief Aduku was his secret.

Paying glowing tributes to the man who really deserved it, the Nigerian Institute of Architects, led by its President, Arc Mobolaji A. Adeniyi, said the 50years of Arc(Chief) G.Y.Aduku’s selfless service to the institute, had mentored thousands of architects around the world, who he said before his demise, as Chairman of the Institute’s Board of Trustees, was deeply involved in the search for harmony and unity within the profession.

Similarly, the Kogi East Elders Forum, disclosed that the legacies left behind by the elder state man, would be pursued to logical conclusion while the acclaimed winner of Nov.11, 2023 governorship election in the state, Alhaji Murtala Ajaka, whose team that graced the occasion and led by the indefatigable politician, Alhaji Yakubu Enape, in his glowing tribute, said Chief G.Y. Aduku had paid sacrifice for peace and vowed that the incoming administration would immortalize his name.

Those in attendance includes two former governors, senators, former Federal Commissioner, state head of service, chiefs, lgala organisations in diaspora, professional organizations and colleagues, organized labour, and prominent individuals among others.
