Kogi State Government, has assured the Federal Road Safety Corp’s, Kogi State command of prompt intervention, especially the provision of Logistics needs.
Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, gave the assurance during the EMBER MONTHS FLAG -OFF CAMPAIGN, organized by FRSC in Lokoja.
The Governor, who was represented by the Executive Chairman, Kogi State Security Trust Fund, Hon. Samari Teina Abdumalik, urged motorists to avoid the wheel while stressed up or intoxicated so as to save lives and property.
According to him,Lokoja, being a major traffic corridor that links the Northern and Southern regions of the Country and also share borders with nine other States, will invariably host high vehicular traffic within the Ember Months as evident from previous year’s observations and as such the flag-off wouldn’t have come at a better time than now.
He further acknowledged the Officers and Men of FRSC Kogi State Sector Command for been committed, dedicated and passionately working towards ensuring a safer motoring environment in Kogi State and its environs which is highly commendable and appreciated.
Samari urged the good people of Kogi State especially Transport Unions, Market Women, Traders and the entire road users to join hands with the Federal Road Safety Commission and the State Traffic Management Agency by adhering to the Traffic Rules.
In his words ” The theme for the 2023 Ember Month Campaign is ‘’SPEED THRILLS BUT KILLS; DRIVE RESPONSIBLY AND AVOID OVERLOADING’’ is reawaken to every road user (Private and Public) to drive within the design speed limit for a particular road or employ the common sense speed limit (i.e driving at a controllable safe minimum speed)””. He added.
Chairman said the objectives of this operation would not doubt amount to the actualization of the theme for this year.
He therefore enjoined all to strive hard to attain a crash free ember month’s activities believing that this envisaged cooperation between the FRSC and all Stakeholders would secure the targeted paradigm shift for a reduced or zero RTC in Kogi State.
