The Director General, Bureau of Land, Urban and Regional Development, Samari Abdulmalik Teina has urged communities to desist from encroachment of sixteen kilometers radius promised to improve on the existing structures he met on ground to achieve the master plan of state.
Abdulmalik Teina Samari made the remark at the meeting with Traditional rulers and relevant stakeholders on Land at the Government House Lokoja.
He said land administration consist of several interest including that of individual, community and Government noting that common ground must always be reached in order to carry everybody along in the Land issues.
Abdulmalik Teina explained that Government by law has the right to allocate land with overiding interest above that of the community emphasising that proper .
recognition Communities must be taken into congnisite and always respect the proclamation of sixteen kilometers radius of the state capital as government territory.
He appealed to the land owners of the community not to build on Water Channels, Access road and drainages to avoid demolition by government.
According to him, the meeting was called to reach amicable resolution on Land matters and the urged community to always identify the land that belongs to Government.
The Director General noted that government would hesitate to treat land issue with seriousness it deserves to ensure the beautification of the state.
Abdulmalik Teina urged the stakeholders to always seek advice from the Bureau for proper allocation , adding that those building of houses most be thirty metres from the roads as whoever floats the instruction from government may have himself to be blaim as government is not ready to collect Land from individuals.
He called on those interested in Land allocation to always approach to Bureau for proper documentations , saying that those erected building without approval on sixteen kilometers radius would have themselves to be blaimed.
He emphasised that the Staff of Bureau are not out to witchault Community or an individuals , adding that efforts are being intensified to develop the state which needs collective efforts by all.
The level of cooperation of members of staff of the Bureau, the DG described the staff as professionals who are always ready to perform their duty as expected and urged them to sustain the tempo.
In their separate remarks, some traditional rulers and Village Head appealed to government to ensure that appropriate recommendation is being reached to avoid conflict in various various communities and commended the Director General Bureau of Land Urban and Regional Development Samari Abdulmalik Teina for taken proactive steps towards peaceful environment.
