The Senator representating the good people of Kogi East Senatorial District and who also serves as the chairman Senate Committee on Customs, Senator Isah Jubril Echocho has advocated for peace before , during and after the 2023 Kogi State governorship election.
Echocho who spoke through one of his legislative aides at the burial of Mallam Adegbe Ibrahim who was murdered in a cold-blooded attack which is believed to be political attack in his community, stated that Ajioyolo people are peace loving people and have been living together as one big united family, he wondered what could have be the root cause of such political differences that would have led to the destruction of lives and properties in the area.
In his messsge of condolences, he condemned the attacks and killings. He called on the security agents to rise up to the occasion and bring the perpetraitors to justice as the people can no longer afford to continue to live in perpetual fears as a community.
Senator Jubril then used the occasion to commiserate with the immediate family of Mallam Adegbe Ibrahim , the Ajioyolo community and the entire local government area over the sudden death and level of destruction in the area, he prayed to Allah to grant the deceased a peaceful rest.
It could be recalled that, the spate of political violence in Dekina LGA of Kogi State in recent times calls for concern as the commissioner of police in-charge of Kogi State Command is hereby called upon to beef-up security in the area at all times.
