The minister of steel development Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu has said plans have reach final stage to resuscitate the moribund Ajaokuta steel and industry located in Kogi state.
The minister sated this on Sunday during Annual Shaibu Abubakar Audu essay competition help in lokoja the Kogi state capital on Sunday.
He said president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recalled the original Russian firm that contructed the com steel company in 1979 before what he described as bad administrative policies and international conspiracies pushed the industry into it present status.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed memoranda of Understanding with the firm to resuscitate and put the industry into practical use and make fictional and we all shall starts to see the effect of the agreements in few weeks”.
” president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has also assured Nigerians that the steel industry shall start producing Irons and steel in few months times and he never make a promise he won’t fulfilled “.
Prince Shaibu Abubakar Audu observed that when the steel industry becomes operational it will offer over one million jobs employments which will boast the economic activities of the state and Nigeria at large.
” As a ministry we are doing all we could on our parts to ensure Ajaokuta shell becomes functional and operational”.

He added that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu renewed hope agenda will reactivate and complete the Ajaokuta shell industry for the benefits of all Nigerians.
The minister who was represented by Dr Emmanuel Ekele the special adviser to the minister on political matters call for supports for this adminstration
He congratulated 2024 participants of the essay competition and urged them to be a good citizen
The convener of the essay Enginerr Bayo Oaldipo said the aims is to give honour to sseveral efforts of the minister on the Ajaokuta stellar industry since he assumed office as a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria .
“We see that he wants a functional system that would be of benefits to all Nigerians and we appreciate his effortstowards building a Nigeria of our dream “.
Engines Bayo calls for a pro active steps towards resuscitating the morriibound Ajaokuta steel industry.
The guest lecturer who is also the Dean schools of post graduate studies Federal university Lokoja prof Gbenga Elegbeleye called fora stronger approaches to the resuscitation of the shell industry.
He said a fuctional and operational Ajaokuta steel industry will reduce poverty andraise the standard of living of the people in region and the Nation.
Other speaker at the occasions includes Comrade Adeiza momojimoh the vice-president zone of NUJ and Dr TemiTope Joel of the Kogi state poly technic,lokoja all call for the timely intervention to make the shell industry functional.
The highlights of the occassin was the presentation of prices was presented to winners of the essay competition where miss Firdaua Sanusi emerged the winner and Philomena Ojochenemi and Peace Izokwo Enyo won the runner prices
