To advance Digital journalism in Nigeria, The Stallion Times Media Service has trained over 40 working journalists in Kogi in the fundamentals of multimedia journalism.
The one-day Multimedia Newsroom Training which took place over the week, charged journalists to embrace digital journalism in order to remain relevant in the ever changing Digital world.
Welcoming participants, Mr Isiyaku Ahmed, Stallion Times Editor-In-Chief, said that the training was aimed at acquainting practicing journalists with techniques involved in informing, educating and entertaining the public better in the modern world.
Ahmed, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Stallion Times, believed that after the training the participants would be more informed to do the news reporting better for the growth and development of Nigeria.
Another Resource person, Mr Stephen Salawu, spoke on Concept and Effective use of Multimedia, and the Essential Skills and Tools for Multimedia Journalism in our contemporary world.
Salawu tasked the participants into taking the training seriously to show a difference in their reportage and respective media organizations.
Mr Stephen Enoch, who took the Journalists through some practical sections, spoke on Setting the Climate, Objectives and Expectations in Multimedia Journalism during which he advised participants to be creative and committed to get results.
The Stallion Times is a partner in the Collaborative Media Project (Collaborating for media independence and government accountability) with support from the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism, funded by the MacArthur Foundation.
