As the Federal University Lokoja, welcomes its new students, it reaffirms its commitment to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. The School on Thursday, matriculated 4,925 students for its 2023/2024 session while advising the students to be security conscious and abide by the rules and regulations of the school.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, gave the advice during the ceremony at the varsity’s campus at Andankola, Lokoja.
While presiding over the induction ceremony for new students enrolled across the university’s seven faculties and more than 57 academic programs, the vice Chancellor implored them to embrace and exemplify the core values and high standards that define the institution’s excellence.
Prof. Akinwumi urged the new students to remain obedient to school authorities and maintain good conduct throughout their stay in the university.
He also added that the vision of the school is to be the best among the universities in Nigeria and one of the top ten universities in Africa, recognised for excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.
He also charged them to always uphold the values and standards of the university, which he said had zero tolerance for social vices such as cultism, examination misconducts and indecent dressing.
The Vice Chancellor welcomed the students and urged them to prioritize their academic pursuits and resist temptations of engaging in destructive activities.
