*House of Reps Threatens to Arrest Social Media Activist VeryDarkMan*
The House of Representatives in Nigeria has taken a stern stance against social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan. On Monday, the House Committee investigating bribery allegations against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) in the case involving crossdresser Bobrisky, threatened to arrest VeryDarkMan.
The threat was issued after VeryDarkMan appeared before the lawmakers but refused to testify, citing the absence of Bobrisky and the EFCC chairman. The committee members responded by stating that VeryDarkMan cannot dictate how they conduct their investigation.
“You can’t dictate to us how to do our job,” the chairman of the committee said. “We have the power to arrest you if you refuse to cooperate. We can also compel Bobrisky to appear before us. You must speak to the allegations you made.”
The committee members urged VeryDarkMan’s lawyer to advise him accordingly, emphasizing that they will not be swayed by his refusal to testify. It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold.
