JOURNALIST ASSURED OF ADEQUATE SECURITY IN THE FORTH COMING Kogi ELECTION.

Kogi State Commissioner of Police,CP Onuoha Bethrand C has promised to beef up security of the public and Media personnel on assignment during the forth coming elections slatted for November 11.
The Commissioner of Police who was ably represented by the police public Relations officer SP William ovye Aya stated this in Media roundtable/Engagement on Kogi Governorship Election chaired by International press center (IPC) supported by EU-support to Democratic Governance held at Treasure suites, Abuja.
The PPRO who noted that this has become necessary inview of security challenges in the last Kogi election.
He averred that issues of security should not be left to police alone but rather called on Kogi stakeholders to join hand with the police to endure free and fair elections.
The SP then implored leader’s who billboard ay poster has been vandalized to put up complain assuring them that police would endure their arrest and prosecuted.
In a related development, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner for Kogi State,Dr Hale Gabriel Longpet has assured the people of Kogi State a peaceful transparent elections, adding that all the election inadequacies would be rectified before the election.
He reaffirm that PVC machine will be utilized in next election and applauded journalist for coverages in last election.
Speaking on Perspective on Disability Inclusion in Media Coverage of the Kogi election, the project coordinator of TAP African,Lynn Agiyun Cha said one of the objective of her association is to protect the rights of people Living With Disability ( PWD).
According to her, the electoral act made it compulsory for PWD to enjoy equal right during election period.
She further appealed to electoral officers and Media to always pay special attention to People Living With Disability..
