Kogi State Government Boosts Security with Refurbished Vehicles: A New Era of Safety and Security
In a significant move to enhance the operations of security agencies in Kogi State, the Kogi State Security Trust Fund has refurbished and presented four Hilux vans to the state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and Kogi West Vigilante Service.
This gesture is a testament to the state government’s commitment to supporting security outfits in effectively discharging their constitutional mandate.
The Chairman of the Kogi State Security Trust Fund, Retired Air Vice Marshal Omeiza Umar, handed over the refurbished vehicles to the beneficiaries in Lokoja, emphasizing that the gesture is part of the state government’s efforts to make Kogi State inhospitable to criminal elements.
According to him, the present administration under the dynamic leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is dedicated to injecting significant resources into security to ensure the state is safe and secure for all.
Retired Air Vice Marshal Umar charged the security agencies to effectively utilize the vehicles and refrain from mishandling them, noting that three of the refurbished vehicles are for the Kogi State Vigilante Services, while the remaining one is for the NSCDC.
He expressed confidence in the capacity of the security architectures to curb criminal activities in the state and assured that the Governor Ododo-led administration will continue to support the efforts of security bodies to clamp down on bad elements.
The Kogi State Commander of the NSCDC, Easter Akinlade, expressed gratitude to the state government for its support, promising that the refurbished vehicle would be handled with care to yield positive results in reducing criminalities in the state.
She pledged to redouble efforts to uproot undesirable elements from society, describing the state government’s kind gesture as a litmus test and wake-up call for them to perform their duties more effectively.

The Comptroller General of Kogi State Vigilante Services, Adinoyi Mariam, also expressed gratitude to the state governor for his unwavering support and cooperation in enhancing the operations of security bodies.
He commended Governor Ododo’s pragmatic approach to security issues, noting that the administration has demonstrated genuine passion to make every part of the state a safe haven.
The refurbished vehicles are expected to enhance the mobility and effectiveness of the security agencies in combating crime and ensuring the safety of lives and property in Kogi State.
