Kogi State Government has officially handed over the Okene Reference hospital to the newly appointed CMD, Professor Solomon Avidime.
The State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, represented by the State Commissioner of Health, Doctor Zakari Usman, conducted the new CMD round the medical facility in Okene.
He congratulated Professor Avidime on his well deserved appointment, urging him to bring his wealth of experience in medicine and administration to bear in the management of the hospital.
He maintained that the hospital has state of the Art medical equipment which includes Mammographic Machine, CT Scan Machine, Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI) machines, and a Hyperbaric chamber, the only hospital to have it in Nigeria.
Responding, Professor Avidime expressed appreciation to Governor Yahaya Bello for the confidence reposed in him to take off the management of the Okene Reference hospital as pioneer CMD.
He assured that he will do his best in ensuring that the huge investment by the State government has a positive impact on the lives of the people of Kogi State in particular and Nigerians at large health wise.
The new CMD stated that the hospital is a world-class facility ready to cater for healthcare needs of both local and international clients and will put an end to medical tourism in Nigeria.
The pioneer CMD, who has over twenty-five years experience in professional practice, is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology from the Ahmadu Bello University,(ABU), Chief Consultant ABU Teaching Hospital and specializes in infertility and gynae endoscopy.
