Kogi State Security Trust Fund Chairman, Hon. Abdulkareem Ozovehe Ohiare, has issued a stern warning to criminals to stay away from the state, assuring commuters traveling home for Christmas that the roads are safe and secure.
In a press briefing at his office, Ohiare emphasized that Governor Ododo has made comprehensive security arrangements to ensure a hitch-free festive season.
Ohiare highlighted the state’s strategic location, bordering seven other states, which necessitates robust security measures to prevent criminal infiltration.
He revealed that all vulnerable points of entry have been identified and sealed off, while security agencies have been equipped with refurbished operational vehicles for efficient patrols.
The Chairman also stressed the importance of community involvement in crime prevention, urging citizens to report suspicious activities and collaborate with security personnel.
He emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and that everyone has a role to play in maintaining peace and order.
Ohiare further advised drivers to avoid alcohol consumption while driving and to refrain from night journeys if possible.
He also encouraged passengers to board vehicles at designated parks and to remain vigilant during their travels.
