The Chairman of the Kogi State Security Trust Fund, Hon. Abdulkareem Ozovehe Ohiare, has emphasized the importance of utilizing security equipment provided by the government to schools and security agencies.
He made this appeal during a ceremony where refurbished vehicles, tires, and new motorcycles were distributed to some higher institutions in the state.
Ohiare acknowledged the efforts of the state governor in reducing crimes in the state, but noted that some individuals are still sabotaging these efforts.
He urged the beneficiaries to cooperate with the government and make the most of the provided equipment to save costs and enhance security.
The Director for Tertiary Education, Abdulraman Mohammed Albasir, expressed gratitude to the state governor and KSSTF Chairman for their prompt response to security concerns in tertiary institutions.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the vehicles and tires, emphasizing the importance of security in ensuring a conducive learning environment.
Yusuf Ahmed, Admin Director of Administration KSSTF, highlighted that this was the third phase of distributions since the chairman’s assumption of office.
He noted that over hundreds of vehicles had been refurbished and that KSSTF is committed to delivering its mandates to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
Dr. Mrs. Victoria Olushola Jagboro, Provost of College of Education Technical Mopa, was thrilled with the swift response to her request.
She expressed her gratitude to the state governor and Hon. Abdulkareem Ohiare for providing the motorcycles within two weeks.
A total of ten refurbished vehicles were presented to the Nigeria Police, Civil Defence, and Kogi State Vigilante Service.
Additionally, ten motorcycles were given to Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara (CUSTECH) and College of Education Technical Mopa. 
Eight tyres were also distributed to some security agencies in the state.
