The Kogi State Security Trust Fund (KSSTF) has refurbished operational vehicles for security agencies in the state, as part of its efforts to enhance security and combat crime.
The refurbished vehicles were presented to the security agencies by the Executive Chairman of KSSTF, Hon. Ibraheem Ohiare, during a ceremony held at the KSSTF headquarters in Lokoja.
Hon. Ohiare advised the security agencies to maintain the vehicles and use them for their intended purpose.
He also announced that this was the first time operational vehicles had been refurbished for the Nigerian Army since he became chairman of KSSTF 11 months ago.
Additionally, Hon. Ohiare revealed that Governor Ododo had given KSSTF a mandate to refurbish all operational vehicles for the 12 Headquarters Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Lokoja before January 2024.
He assured that the Trust Fund would do its best to deliver within the stipulated time.
The Chairman House Committee on Security, Major Enefola, commended Hon. Ohiare for taking KSSTF to new heights and his commitment to ridding Kogi of crime.
The Commander of the 12 Brigade in Lokoja, represented by Major G. Mohammed, also appreciated Hon. Ohiare’s efforts towards the Nigerian Army and commended Governor Ododo for his assistance in reducing crime in the state.
The Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Saidu Adamu, commended Governor Ododo for appointing a credible and committed chairman to head KSSTF and assured Hon. Ohiare of continuous collaboration in publicity.
Beneficiaries includes Nigeria Police Force divisions in Osara, Usunlu, Omala, and Koton Karfe .
Others are Nigeria Security and civil defence corps, Obajana command and 12 Headquarters Brigade of the Nigerian Army, lokoja and the total of vehicles refurbished were ten.
These refurbished vehicles will enhance the operational capabilities of these security agencies, enabling them to better serve and protect the citizens of Kogi State.
In his vote of thanks, the Director of Administration of the Trust Fund, Alh Ahmed Abdulkareem, thanked the state government for supporting KSSTF and appealed to the beneficiaries to take good care of the refurbished vehicles.
This development is seen as a significant boost to the security agencies in Kogi State and a demonstration of the state government’s commitment to security.
