*Nigeria at 64: Police Chief Orders Tight Security for Independence Day Celebration*

Ahead of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day celebration on Tuesday, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered a comprehensive security crackdown to ensure a safe and conducive environment for citizens.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP directed the deployment of adequate human and tactical resources to enable maximum security and seamless celebration.

The Police, in synergy with other security agencies, will fortify various designated event venues and major highways across the country to prevent threats to lives and property.

Additionally, the IGP has directed all personnel deployed for operations during the celebrations to be courteous and firm in their engagements with the public.

The IGP also felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion, reflecting on the nation’s journey, triumphs, and challenges, and honoring the sacrifices of founding fathers and generations that have contributed to Nigeria’s growth, unity, and progress.
