Nollywood Mourns: Veteran Actor Tom Njemanze Passes On After Prostate Cancer Battle

The Nollywood community is in mourning following the passing of renowned actor Tom Njemanze after a long battle with prostate cancer. Filmmaker Stanley Ontop confirmed the news on Instagram, sharing a heartfelt message from the actor’s family.

Njemanze, a household name since the 1990s, left an indelible mark on the industry with memorable performances in classic films like “Tokunboh,” “Pounds and Dollars,” “Atosa,” “Issakaba,” “Osuofia in London,” “Brain Box,” and “Igbotic Love.”

Prior to his passing, Ontop had appealed for public support to raise funds for a life-saving surgery, showcasing the actor’s struggles and the efforts made to save his life.

The industry mourns the loss of a legend, with Ontop’s poignant words encapsulating the sentiment: “Nollywood lost another legend. Ije Uwa.” May his soul rest in peace.
