“The Social Democratic Party (SDP) is poised to take control of Dekina Local Government Area (LGA) as Hon. Aruwa Yusuf obtains intent and nomination forms.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Divic Nigeria Ltd, who served as the leader of the SDP in Okohi, Biraidu district of Dekina LGA, has taken the first step towards contesting for the office of Executive Chairman in the forthcoming LGA election.
Hon. Aruwa, a grassroots politician and skilled mobilizer, played a crucial role in the success of the SDP Governorship candidate in the recent disputed election, whose mandate is currently being contested at the Supreme Court.
While addressing stakeholders and supporters, Hon. Aruwa promised to implement an all-inclusive government, focusing on key areas such as education, healthcare, rural roads, youth and women empowerment, prompt payment of teachers’ salaries and pensions, agricultural revolution, and environmental cleanliness.
Between the lines, Hon. Aruwa has vowed to promote unity in Dekina LGA, eradicate poverty, want, and ignorance, enhance security, and revitalize the local economy through investments in agriculture, commerce, and youth employment.
Emphasizing the significance of the local government level, Hon. Aruwa stressed that the people cannot afford to elect leaders who are disconnected from their needs.
He expressed gratitude towards the party leaders, particularly the governorship candidate, Alh. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, for instilling hope in the people and championing true democracy.
Hon. Aruwa appealed to party leaders to prioritize zoning, highlighting Biraidu’s strength in delivering 100% votes to the SDP in the last governorship election.
He called for unity among aspirants, emphasizing the need for continued peace, progress, and development in the party and LGA.
Notably, thousands of members from various parties, including SDP, APC, and PDP, joined Hon. Aruwa in obtaining the nomination form, describing his candidacy as unifying and inclusive.
According to Hon. Aruwa Yusuf, the time has come for the people to speak with one voice, transcending political sentiments. SDP is now set to rectify past wrongs and usher in a new era of progress.”
