*The DG Kogi State Bureau of Lands and Urban Development Calls for an End to Illegal Land Sales*
The Kogi State Bureau of Lands and Urban Development has issued a public warning against the sale of landed properties within the state.
In a statement released by the newly appointed Director General, Hon. Samari Abdulmalik Teina, the bureau expressed concern about the increasing cases of land grabbing and illegal transactions involving landed properties.
The Bureau understands the importance of land to the people of Kogi State and recognizes the need for clear and transparent documentation of land transactions.
We are committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure that all land transactions are properly documented and in compliance with the law.
We will not tolerate any form of land grabbing or illegal transactions, and we will take appropriate action against anyone found to be engaging in such activities.
As part of our efforts to address this issue, the Bureau is launching a verification exercise to identify and document all landed properties within the state.
We will be working closely with local government authorities, traditional rulers, and community leaders to ensure that the exercise is carried out in an orderly and transparent manner.
We urge all property owners to cooperate with us during this process and to provide all relevant documentation.
The Bureau will also be setting up a special hotline for members of the public to report any suspicious or illegal activities related to land transactions. These officials will be trained to handle such reports professionally and confidentially and will take appropriate action to address any issues that are brought to their attention.
We thank the people of Kogi State for their cooperation and patience as we work to address these issues. We believe that by working together, we can create a more secure and transparent environment for land transactions in Kogi State.
Thank you again for your cooperation, and we look forward to serving you in the years to come.
Signed: Teina’s Media Team.
