The forthcoming launch of General Ibrahim Babangida’s Memoir dated 20th February, 2025 is set to stir Nigeria once again, bringing to the forefront the complexities of his leadership and character. The event, which will be attended by prominent figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Muhammadu Buhari, Goodluck Jonathan, among others, presents a unique opportunity for Nigeria to reexamine its past.
IBB’s decision to write his memoir, despite the Nigerian public’s prejudice, showcases his courage and confidence in his integrity. By sharing his side of the story, he’s demonstrating a willingness to confront controversy head-on. This is particularly noteworthy, given the controversies surrounding his regime, including the Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP) policy, etc.
