Gov. Yahaya Bello has Swore-in the 4th Ejeh of Ankpa, HRH, Alh. Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed Yakubu.
Performing the ceremony at the banquet hall of Government House, Lokoja ,the governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello admonished him to carry all his subjects along in the promotion of peace, progress and development of the area.
The governor who applauded the judiciary for always dispensing justice and fairness further stated that, he believes in the court process as this appointment was made sometime March, 2021, but due to litigation from aggrieved persons from the area, the government had to obey the court order and the swearing in was put to a halt ,but today, the same court of higher jurisdiction which is Court of Appeal, Abuja has equally directed the swearing- in of the most respected traditional ruler of Ejeh of Ankpa in Ankpa Local Government Area, we are duty bound to obey the court of law as the pronouncement has further confirmed the legality of the exercise and advices the royal father to be magnanimous in victory as all people of the area are his subjects.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Barr .Deedat Momodu Ozigi and that of the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Hon.Barr.Muhammed Bello,SAN was equally present during the administration of oath of office as the 4th Ejeh of Ankpa.
Responding after the oath of office , the 4th Ejeh of Ankpa HRH Alh. Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed Yakubu appreciated the Almighty Allah for protection, provision and safety, adding that, without Allah’s intervention,all human efforts could be a nullity .
He appreciated the governor of Kogi State Allh. Yahaya Bello, the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,the Attah Igala, the Ankpa Traditional Council and all other personalities that have been standing with the royal family till date , most importantly the media for keeping abreast with the public on the development at all time, he urged them to keep the spirit high as better days are coming to the area.
As for his fathers and brothers who
took him to court, he said there was no winner or loser as all are from royal blood but that ,there most be a ruler at a particular point in time,hence Almighty Allah bestowed him to be the one at this material time and appealled for collaboration by adding positive values to the throne and the community.
Confluence news gathered that,the appointment of the traditional ruler was made about two years ago, but due to litigation ,the government could not swear him into office like his counterpart, but today , the court has given him go ahead and the people are in joyous mood.
The throne of Ejeh of Ankpa became vacant after the demise of the former occupant who was the biological father of the new Ejeh, HRH Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed Yakubu.
