Tragedy Strikes in Kogi State: Gunmen Kill Lagos-Based Pastor
Apostle Ranti Ige-Daniel, a clergyman of the Royal Assembly Sanctuary in Lagos, has been brutally murdered by suspected kidnappers in Isanlu community, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, while the pastor was traveling between Idofin and Makutu road, near Isanlu, in the company of three others.
The group had been attending a revival crusade in the community and was en route to a burial ceremony when their vehicle ran into a barricade set up by the gunmen.
Eyewitnesses report that the attackers opened fire on the pastor’s car around 8:30 p.m., killing Apostle Ige-Daniel instantly.
The three other occupants of the vehicle, including a woman believed to be his fiancée, were abducted by the gunmen.
Rev. Dr. Francis Iselowo, a close associate of the pastor’s family, confirmed the tragic incident.
“Apostle Ranti’s life was brutally cut short in a senseless act of violence, leaving behind three others who are still in captivity.
The kidnappers are reportedly demanding a ransom of N10 million per person.”
The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, and an investigation is currently underway to apprehend the perpetrators and rescue the abducted individuals.
